Hi John,
I used a Baofeng and I even turned off the mic as instructed by Doug.I also used a couple of Motorola handset..

Have you tried more than 
one transmit radio? Modulation or demodulation levels are usually the 
culprit.

Hi,
I created a simplex 
node and got it working. One weird thing is that when I send DTMF 
commands, it does not detect the number 3 as seen through the CLI.
Any
 thoughts?
