[arm-allstar] RX Voting using RTCM's

I was just reading a good reply from Chuck on delays, which has been a concern of ours as we plan on deploying two remote receivers that we intend to bring back using the public internet. Our site vendor has 25 sites that are all linked using 5GHz. We pay more than the usual site fee to be there and have this capability. But because we need remote receivers that are not on his system we have to use the public internet. I work for a hosting company and I am well experienced with milliseconds. It is interesting to read of delays in the hundreds of milliseconds for voted audio. I am not complaining and I look forward to buying additional RTCM’s. If I read you correctly, Chuck, RTCM’s is really the only way to go if voting? How can we minimize the delay since we have to go over the public internet? I’d much rather use the Intranet but the situation doesn’t lend itself to that.

One more question, if I may. we plan on using the widely available Motorola CDM750’s. Their specs are just a bit better than even the 1250’s, especially in the intermod and spurs department. Still not the highest quality but we have a limited budget. The CDM’s have 20KHz IF’s that we really need her in So. Calif. The CDM’s should also interface just like the GM300’s, but the key is using direct audio from the discriminator? Shouldn’t be a problem on 750’s, right?
