Neil,

Are you using the DMK URI? If so follow the info on the DR1 mod in the howto's on the hamvoip.org web page to add additional gain by adding the internal op-amp into the circuit. It involves a couple of jumpers on the URI. I used 5V to power it from the 5V connection on the URI but if you need more gain you can run it from an external 12V source. On the DR1's I modified using 5V a setting of 950 on tx gain with preemphasis worked well.

Subject: [arm-allstar] additional tx gain on RPI ? DR-1X interface

Is there any variable that I can adjust to get a higher level output on
transmit? it is not a receive level issue as all spoken outputs are very low.
like *70 for example. I ran my tx gain all the way up to 999 in duplex=2 but
levels are very low. I am trying to interface a RPI to a new Yaesu DR1X
repeater using an optional ARCCOM DR1X interface cable. All plug and play
no modifications to void the warranty of the DR-1X

Just low tx audio!

Also I noticed I need a longer delay upon tx keyup so the first part of a
message is not missed
is there such a variable?
TX KEY UP LEAD TIME=xxxx ? ;a delay after tx
keys up before messages etc start speaking?

Thanks
