Neil,
I see no reason why it should not work assuming you have it typed the way you showed it except check the quotes. If you cut and paste it will often replace quotes with periods. Are you putting double quotes around the command? That would be right but it is hard to tell in the email. It looks like it is interpreting the rpt with a quote before it. I did cut and paste to a BBB system and made sure there were quotes before and after and it took it fine. It obviously did not do anything as is but no errors.

Subject: [arm-allstar] asterisk command syntax question
why does the command in the asterisk client work but not the linux
commmand?
This works:

CLI> rpt
localplay 41838 /etc/asterisk/local/testk8it

This does not work:

asterisk -rx “rpt localplay 41838 /etc/asterisk/local/testk8it“

[root at kitlink /]# cd /
[root at kitlink /]# asterisk -rx
“rpt localplay 41838 /etc/asterisk/local/testk8it“
No such command '“rpt'
(type 'help “rpt' for other possible commands)
[root at kitlink
/]#
Why?
thanks 73 k8it
Neil
