Chuck,Doug,
Our club has recently put up a DR-1X as a replacement for on old Motorola and it has been a bumpy road. We are hoping to eventually Allstar it.

Hopefully Tom VE7DID will comment more on our issues. I am at this point in time regretting supporting the purchase. We have been using it in mixed mode but very few digital users.

I will let Tom elaborate but we have been having de sense issues that did not exist with the old gear.

My theory is it is a good cheap replacement. Analog will be the main mode- and it does that well as I have experienced here in San Diego. But I am heading back to KC the 1st of the month, after 10 months in Cali. And I have a TON of rptrs to fix as Bob has not kept up. We will be interfacing a Pi2 to it and like I have stated Analog will be the primary mode. Our members are in the position of buying all new radios. So locking it down to analog will not break my heart. And yes I have spoken to Yaesu about backing down the power and driving an amp. We are still kicking the idea around but the price is REAL tempting.

>> The Fusion repeater makes a nice analog FM repeater married with Allstar as long as you don't run it on high power. It is NOT rated for continuous use at high power. Best to run it low and use an external amp. Internally it is just two FTM400 mobiles back to back.

It is no big deal I just had some time this weekend and after getting the Pi going (which is AWESOME- boots up quick compared to the BBB), I saw the N10 and was just thinking. Thanks for all the work also. On another note, we will be getting a Fusion rptr (price is right) to replace an aging MSF5K and was wondering how the Pi2 interface would work. Any thoughts?

When using the IOgear the RPi2 thinks it is connected to a wired network and NO changes are needed in the RPi2 thus swithcing from wired to wireless is seamless. Another plus when using it is that you can put it outside of a shielded rack and away from the RPi2 or BBB to get a better signal.

I can get it to load and operate using wifi-menu -o for the setup and can manually intialize it, but cannot seem to add it to the boot menu. I have tried the netctl commands suggested on some web pages but it will not activate on boot. Is there a certain way to kickstart it on the Pi2?
