[arm-allstar] up again down again echolink servers

I do not see this problem here. Server5 is basically defunct and could be removed from the server list. Otherwise I use the default servers as listed in the example image file. I think this is more a connection problem from you to the servers if in fact it is happening. You should see connection errors in the log - /var/log/asterisk/messages like this

[Jul 29 23:37:15] ERROR[28253] chan_echolink.c: connect() failed to connect to the Echolink server server5.echolink.org

if you are getting errors. Again this particular one is an insignificant error I get on my system because I am too lazy to remove server5 from my config.

Are you getting a listing - echolink dbdump - in the client? Can you lookup a specific user?

WA3DSP_Allstar*CLI> echolink dbget c WA3DSP-L
147090|WA3DSP-L|73.30.112.57

If you can then you are getting the data.

There are no user settings for timings in echolink.

More info on echolink servers can be found here -

Subject: [arm-allstar] up again down again echolink servers

well I fixed my two node issue, and moved on to trying to solve up and down
echolink servers to my node. This is not an Allstar or Asterisk issue, but it is
related to what are the proper server addresses to have in echolink.org

this issue has been experienced by several node owners in recent
weeks.

I have tried server1.echolink.org, server3.echolink.org,
server5.echolink.org and
naeast.echolink.org, nasouth.echolink.org, servers.echolink.org
some times they work, often they do not and based on ping testing they time
out.
Q1. does anybody have more reliable server addresses to use?
Q2. is there away to increase the timeout and number of conection attempts
to the servers?
Q3. is there any way to use a proxy to connect to the echolink servers in
echolink.conf

So Doug does not get mad at me, this is not an Allstar Asterisk code issue,
but rather intermittent response from echolink servers

Any thoughts
