Andy,

In the photos I used Belden 5 wire shielded cable because I had some on hand but it needs only 4 wires and a ground (COS, PTT, RX-AUD, TX-AUD, GND) so an old USB cable could be used. They are generally 4 wires shielded. The shield being the ground. You might have some other similar cables laying around you could repurpose.  It should definitely be shielded and if you are using the shield for the ground make sure it is connected at both ends.

Hi Doug,
What are you using for the cable that you are soldering to the 888? I have a male DB25 connector, but I'm unsure as to what kind of cable to buy to solder between the DB25 and the 888. It only needs 6 wires right?
