Dave,
Following the links from you and Doug I managed to download and
correctly install Screen. So success!

My first attempt with AllStar on the RPI2 was with a Debian image. It
worked well until I setup phone patch in rpt.conf. I added a context to
the statement and when it ran it generated a kernel error. So I
followed google to Doug's web page and installed your image. After
configuring the dialplan and stuff, the phonepatch and reverse
phonepatch worked great. No kernel errors, just worked fine. I am
infatuated with it, in fact!

I have configured a few WRT54GS routers and 1 RPI2 as HSMM-MESH nodes. I
have 4 SPA941/942 4 line telephones. The AllStar node is connected to a
"Direct Lan" port on the KA7U-1 WRT54GS mesh node. The RPI2 KA7U-2 mesh
node also has Asterisk v.13 running on it. Line/ext 1 on each phone
registers with KA7U-2 using the ext.# 7001-7004 and voice mail
@8001-8004, and Line/ext 2 registers with AllStar using ext.# 5001-5004.
Registered IAX cell phones and computers using Zoiper are given ext.#
starting @ 5501. The _5XXX numbers all roll over to the corresponding
_7XXX numbers if they don't answer and then go to voicemail. This works
because I have a SIP bridge between AllStar and KA7U-2. There exists
some irrational latency on this HSMM-Mesh network. I think it is due to
the close proximity of all my routers on channel 1, but with the Jitter
settings available to Asterisk ver.13 and AllStar, I seem to have it
smoothed out.

All of the _5XXX extensions and _7XXX extensions can call the radio node
28174, monitor and use *99 PTT and # disconnect. They can all monitor at
the same time. A radio can use *6 and any of the current telephone
extensions and connect either when the phone answers or get voicemail.
When you answer a phonepatch from the telphone VOX switching is in
place. I didn't comfigure it, it just already was the case. Node 28174
is currently simplex with a PL100. It has been connected to one of
Doug's nodes off and on, and seems to work as it should without causing
interference. If it gets to be a problem, send email: ron at morell.us

The whole mess is going to Quartzfest in Quartzite, AZ starting January
17th. There it will join the larger group HSMM-Mesh. If none of this
stuff works, the Hootenani and barbecue should still be good. Hi Hi

Hi Ron,

You can use "pacman -R" to uninstall libncurses.so.6 and then grab the
required versions from fraggod.net, place the package tarballs in
/var/cache/pacman/pkg ...Finally, you should then be able to install the

explicit version needed. I've had to do this a few times, too.

Thanks for the kudos for the hamvoip AllStar release! But, I certainly
can't claim all the credit--there have been a number of major
contributors, certainly including Doug and Chris, who have both worked
tirelessly to make this happen. And, I'll also mention Tim who has
contributed Allmon, scripts and testing. And, finally, Jim and the
original AllStar developers, without whom there would be no project to
begin with! Jim originally coded the dahdi patches that allowed us to
move
forward onto the ARM platform and have all the features (like the
autopatch) work.

Personally, I've been designing and building commercial embedded Linux
systems (mainly routers) and solutions for many years now.

Happy Holidays!
