Now that host names are resolving correctly, I was still unable to have
a two way connection with a "simple bridge", but once I set a register
statement in the sip.conf [general] context and changed the host
statement to host=dynamic, it all came together.  So now the Allstar
node is bridged to another modern Asterisk Switch and the extensions on
each Asterisk Server can call each other. As the extensions all exist on
the same telephones (but are registered to different Asterisk Servers),
the services from both Asterisk boxes are available to each phone, such
as AllStar node 28174, reverse autopatch and autopatch to that
node,Zoiper cell phone or computer extensions, and the voicemail system
on the modern Asterisk Switch on extensions _8XXX.  The HSMM-Mesh needs
to use dynamic IP addressing to work right. Static IP will work, but
much more effort.  The HSMM-Mesh nodes confiure with a STATIC IP for
themselves, but everything else needs to work with Host names or it gets
weird.

Since I've registered the telephones with Asterisk, I'm no longer able
to call them with IP addresses, but that is a small irritation. I'm
using the SPA942/941 telephones.

I am starting to have a very nice little radio telephone system here.
I'm taking it with me to Quartzfest at Quartzite, Arizona on January
17th. It should make a good show and tell.

Hi Ron,

The problem seems to be DNS related, where the hamvoip release runs a
local DNS server which is setup to resolve public URLs, and it doesn't
know how to find the private URLs you're requesting.

For my first suggestion, from a computer that does resolve DNS properly,
take a look at the contents of the /etc/resolv.conf file. I'm guessing
there -may- be a local, private nameserver listed (other than
127.0.0.1). 
If there is a local nameserver listed, just copy those resolv.conf file
contents to the RPi2 equivalent file, and you should be good to go.

By the way, I do recommend that you leave the RPi2 setup for a static IP

address--not DHCP.

If this doesn't fix the issue, put the original /etc/resolv.conf file
back 
on the RPi2, and I'll walk you through the steps to fix this the manual 
way.
