[arm-allstar] Updating

There is no reason to update and doing so would probably put your system in a state of disrepair. Allstar has had very few changes since the last BBB release and more than likely none would effect you. The BBB and RPi2 images also have changes in the Allstar code specific to them so using stock Allstar would not be a good idea. There would be Archlinux updates but updating the system is tricky and would require at least a recompile of Dahdi. Other things may break also.

The images are supplied as a complete working package with all updates at the time of release. There will be another BBB update release that will bring things up to date. I can't say when but there will be.

The key here is "if it ain't broke don't fix it" because fooling around in there without the knowledge of how to do it is most likely going to break it!
The same is true of our updates. Unless there is a specific fix or feature in the update that you need then it is not necessary to update. The BBB 1.0 to 1.2.1 update was an example of one that was highly recommended to do as there were significant reliability updates and bug fixes. Both BBB 1.2.1 and RPi2 1.0 have been very reliable with no known significant bugs that would effect operation.

What is the best way to keep things in terms of software up to date on my BBB. If I understand it right the version of asterisk and app_rpt come from hamvoip and I would need to get updates from there. What about archlinux?
