I have added the following to the hamvoip.org web page:

How-to on Allstar functions and commands.

Technotes -  KH2FI web site link and how to modify a TYT 220 transceiver for Allstar.

It turns out the TYT is just missing the rear panel 9 pin DB connector and a connection to the board. Once installed it is like the Alinco DR235 but quite a bit cheaper.
