Doug,
The Banana Pro is basically a variant of the Raspberry Pi B+ using a more powerful ARM CPU, much like the Odroid C1.

Why does it need to be that board? Is your goal just to get a network running? The Raspberery Pi 2 which we support is a good platform and can handle two radio nodes quite well. The good news is that all the work of getting it running is already done. Check hamvoip.org for info and images for both the Beagle Black and The RPi2.

There are no limitations on how it is used. Private nodes could be setup independent of the amateur radio system. Getting a system working and running properly from scratch is not a trivial task. We have already done the hard work and setup is a breeze.

We have selected boards that work well and in the case of the RPi2 have wide popularity. Supporting every board that comes along or even several more than we do would be a big task both in time and money spent in development. That being said you are certainly welcome to experiment but if just getting a system going is your goal I don't think you can beat the RPi2 image at hamvoip.org.

Subject: [arm-allstar] Private Allstar on Banana Pro

Hello all,
Looking to make a private Allstar network on the Banana Pro, an Allwinner A20 based system.
I've had some hints from the original Allstar list, this included:
https://github.com/N4IRS/AllStar

But wondering if anyone has any tips, tricks or gotchas for installing Allstar on a virgin ARM Linux system?
Any help appreciated!
Shane.
