[arm-allstar] v1.2 Install DTMP Issue

Doug,

Thanks for all your help.

I am talking about the audio coming from the radio connected to the BBB
which transmits back to my HT. So the node TX out. The level is lower than
another node I have when I switch between the two. No biggie I can crank up
the volume on the HT to compensate.

I had lsnodes on my other node. Nice to see it is installed. I will try it
out.

Thanks

Joe

Joe,

Just so I understand because people often confuse TX and RX depending on how
they are looking at it. Are you referring to selection 2 on the
simpleusb-tune-menu program where you see the audio in a graph display on
the screen? This is the audio FROM your node radio, the node radios RX and
is seen when you TX on a handheld or another radio TO your node radio. The
stock setting in simpleusb.conf is rxboost=1 which is on. Perhaps wherever
you are taking the audio from your node radio RX output is to low a level?
It should be at least 100mv P-P.

For lsnodes it is already setup on the BBB. I believe that is described on
the web page but I am going to be doing some reworking of the web page soon
and I will probably add that as a howto. Anyhow all you have to do is the
following line in your browser. The browser should be firefox, waterfox, or
chrome, NOT explorer.

 192.168.0.132/cgi-bin/lsnodes_web?node=40638

In the above line change the IP address to the local IP address of your BBB
and change the node to the node number of your BBB. If you wanted to use
this externally you would have to forward port 80 in your router to the BBB
and use your public IP address. You could change the port by configuring
the httpd config if you didn't want to use port 80.

For a description of lsnodes see -
http://crompton.com/hamradio/allstar/lsnodes.html
but note that you do not need to install anything so you can disregard
anything about that. The page was written for the acid release.

Doug,

Thanks for everything. I got it up and running. Node 41362.

I had one other question. I used simpleusb-tune-menu to set the RX. Even
when I put TX to 999 the audio is still low.

Is there somewhere else to adjust the tx audio besides simpleusb-tune-menu?

Also, is the documentation updates on the scripts on the image? Is lsnodes
on there?

Thanks

Joe

Joe,

The best way to troubleshoot this is to go into the client -

asterisk -rvvv

at the linux prompt

Then keyup and hit DTMF keys. The log should show the key value. It will
look like this:

Did you run simpleusb-tune-menu and set the audio levels as per the
configuration how-to?

Doug,

I installed V1.2 today and it is working except when I do DTMF commands. In
one of about 10 tries I connect. But I cannot disconnect and do any of the
other DTMF functions. I am using a USB FOB with a Baofeng UV-5r.

Thanks for the help

Joe
