Message-ID: Is there someone willing to help me offline of the list with an install? I "think" I have followed the how-to line by line. I appear to be having an issue. The status of my node is not showing up on status.irlp.net - that may be normal. I am not able to make any connections using supermon or dtmf. I am a linux "newbie" but have done some work with IRLP in the past. It just doesn't happen every day. Any suggetions? My initial thought is the placement of the secring.pgp file and possibly it's permissions. Thank you in advance. Note this would be my old node number 3518. I'm trying to get that one to work with my Allstar node so I can move my 8080 to my work office. Allstar does not require port forwarding like IRLP for outgoing calls and if you don't want incoming calls you can eliminate it. The IAX port defaults to 4569 and is the port usually used when one server is at a location. If other servers (Pi's) are added you should select other ports to use. This can be any unused port but typically 4568, 4567, etc, or 4570, 4571, etc. If you are using other than port 4569, the default, you MUST change the port number at BOTH allstarlink.org in the server network info AND in /etc/asterisk/iax.conf - bindport= Then if you want incoming Allstar access you must add a port forward (UDP) with the port assigned to that server pointing to the servers IP address. In addition port 222 (TCP) could be added to have outside of your LAN SSH access to your server. If you have many server you can either assign a different ssh port number to each or just use the one to access in and then ssh from there to others on your LAN. Whatever ports you want outside access to need to be port forwarded. IRLP requires the described port forwards to work and like when you use IRLP hardware you can only have one IRLP port per public IP. Also if you are using a connection scheme like a hotspot where port forwarding cannot be achieved Allstar will work outgoing, not incoming, and IRLP will not work. In some case you will need to use the hamvoip dns node lookup code when using a hotspot for it to work correctly. This will soon be available for general use but until then just ask for the DNS node lookup beta info and I can supply it. If you are new to Allstar and you have questions about things do not hesitate to ask. Many questions are answered on the hamvoip.org web page especially in the howto's but as a newcomer I am sure there would be other questions. While you could ask here If it is a strictly Allstar question it might be better to ask on the arm-allstar email list forum. You want the permissions of the file to be the same as it was on the original IRLP Linux system. The second reason people get messed up using winscp is that Windows and Linux have different end of line characters and if you edit a file in windows and then move it to Linux while it will usually work it might not display properly. This would probably not be a factor for the key file since you are, I hope, not editing it. Personally I never use winscp as I do all my editing in Linux. My major PC is Ubuntu and I very rarely use Windows which I run in virtual box in Ubuntu when needed, so if I edit there I have no problem moving things over. I also often edit in the Pi itself using vi but I would suggest using nano for most users. *73 Doug* *WA3DSP* *http://www.crompton.com/hamradio * On Mon, Jun 4, 2018 at 6:36 PM, Greg Hovland wrote: > As you are aware, I am having problems with the install process.
